Facebook Lead Ads are one of the most effective top-of-funnel tools for service businesses, but they create a problem: the leads land in Meta’s dashboard, not your CRM. Someone has to download a CSV, import it manually, and hope the follow-up happens before the lead cools off. By that point, the window for first contact has often passed. Connect Facebook Lead Ads to LeadExploder and every form submission routes into your pipeline automatically in real time, with follow-up firing within seconds of submission.
What this integration does
When someone fills out a Facebook Lead Ad form, Meta sends the submission data to LeadExploder via a real-time webhook. LeadExploder receives the lead, creates a contact record, maps the form fields to the appropriate contact fields, assigns a pipeline stage, and triggers the follow-up sequence you’ve configured. The entire process completes in under 10 seconds. There are no CSV exports, no manual imports, and no leads sitting in Meta’s dashboard waiting for someone to check it.
The integration also handles Instagram Lead Ads through the same connection. Any Lead Ad form running on Instagram through your Facebook Business account flows into LeadExploder using the same routing rules. You get a unified lead stream from both Facebook and Instagram paid campaigns feeding into one pipeline.
Campaign-level and ad-set-level tagging is built in. Every contact created from a Facebook Lead Ad is tagged with the campaign name and ad set, so you can filter your pipeline by ad source and measure which creatives produce booked jobs rather than just form fills.
What you can do with Facebook Lead Ads + LeadExploder
- Receive new Facebook Lead Ad submissions in real time, directly into your CRM pipeline
- Trigger an SMS, email, or voice follow-up to the lead within seconds of form submission
- Map any custom form field (service type, zip code, preferred time, insurance status) to a LeadExploder contact field automatically
- Connect Instagram Lead Ads through the same integration for a unified lead stream from both platforms
- Tag leads by campaign name and ad set so you can track which creatives generate the best booked appointments
- Automatically assign pipeline stages based on campaign source so different ad campaigns trigger different follow-up sequences
- Remove converted leads from Facebook retargeting audiences when they book or close in your pipeline
How to set this up
- In LeadExploder, go to Settings > Integrations > Facebook and click “Connect Account.”
- Authenticate with the Facebook account that has admin access to your Business Manager. Grant the permissions LeadExploder requests: Pages access, Lead Access, and Ads Management read access.
- Once connected, your Facebook Pages will appear in the integration settings. Select the Page associated with your Lead Ad campaigns.
- Under Lead Ad Forms, select the forms you want to sync. You can connect all forms on a Page or choose specific ones based on campaign type.
- Map the form fields to LeadExploder contact fields. At minimum, map name, email, and phone. Map additional fields such as service type, zip code, and message to custom contact fields so the data appears on the contact record.
- Set a trigger workflow: choose which pipeline stage new leads enter, which follow-up sequence fires, and which team member (if any) gets assigned as the contact owner.
- Click Save and run a test by submitting your Lead Ad form using Facebook’s Lead Ad testing tool (available in Meta Business Suite under Lead Ads Testing). Confirm the test contact appears in LeadExploder within 10 seconds.
- For Instagram Lead Ads: after connecting your Facebook Business account, Instagram Business profiles linked to that account appear in the same integration settings. Select the profile, choose the forms, and repeat the field mapping.
Workflows this enables
Sub-10-second SMS response wins the job before competitors call
A homeowner submits a “request a free estimate” form on a home services Facebook ad at 9:14 PM. By 9:14:09 PM, they receive an SMS from your business: “Hi [first name], thanks for reaching out about [service]. I’ll follow up first thing tomorrow to confirm your appointment. Reply URGENT if you need same-day service.” Your competitor, who checks their Meta dashboard once a day and follows up the next afternoon, has already lost. Speed to contact is the single highest-leverage variable in converting inbound leads from paid social. An automated response in under 10 seconds is not a marginal improvement over manual follow-up. It is a categorical difference. This workflow is especially powerful for HVAC, plumbing, roofing, and restoration companies where the homeowner is actively shopping multiple providers.
Instagram Lead Ad qualification for med spas
A potential patient sees a Botox before-and-after on Instagram, taps the Lead Ad, and fills out the intake form with their name, email, phone, and interest in specific treatments. LeadExploder creates a contact, tags it with the Instagram campaign, sends a confirmation text with a direct booking link for a consultation, and assigns the lead to the “Consultation Requested” stage. If the booking link is not clicked within 24 hours, a follow-up message fires. The front desk opens LeadExploder the next morning to a pre-qualified prospect already in the pipeline with treatment interest notes, not a raw lead from a CSV download. Med spas running this workflow consistently see lower no-contact rates compared to manual follow-up processes.
Ad creative performance tied to booked appointments, not form fills
Each Facebook campaign and ad set is tagged on every LeadExploder contact it generates. When a lead books an appointment, you can filter your pipeline by ad source and compare the booking rates of different creatives, offers, and targeting segments. A personal injury firm running four creative variations can see within two weeks which creative produces intakes that sign retainers, not just which one generates the most form fills. This closes the gap between Meta’s dashboard (which reports on form fill volume) and your actual business outcome (signed clients). It also gives your media buyer the right metric to optimize against when scaling spend.
Retargeting exclusion synced from pipeline stage
When a lead moves to “Booked” or “Closed Won” in your pipeline, a LeadExploder workflow can send that contact’s data to a Facebook Custom Audience used as a retargeting exclusion. Your campaigns stop serving ads to people you have already converted. For legal firms and med spas with smaller retargeting pool sizes, wasted impressions on converted clients add up quickly. The exclusion audience updates automatically as contacts move through the pipeline, so your retargeting always reflects your actual prospect pool rather than everyone who ever submitted a form.
Frequently asked questions
Will this work with my existing Facebook Lead Ad campaigns, or do I need to rebuild them?
No rebuild required. The integration connects to your existing Lead Ad forms by reading the form ID from your Facebook Page. Once you select the form in LeadExploder and map the fields, all future submissions from that form route into your pipeline automatically. Leads that were already collected in Meta’s dashboard before the integration was set up are not retroactively imported, but a one-time manual export and import into LeadExploder handles any backlog if needed.
What happens if a lead submits the same form more than once?
LeadExploder checks for duplicate contacts using email address and phone number as matching keys. If a contact with the same email or phone already exists, LeadExploder logs the new form submission as an activity on the existing record rather than creating a second contact. You can configure whether a duplicate submission triggers the follow-up sequence again or simply logs the activity without re-enrolling the contact in automation. The default behavior is to log without re-enrolling to prevent the same lead from receiving redundant messages.
Does this integration handle Instagram Lead Ads separately?
No separate setup is required. Instagram Lead Ads are managed through your Facebook Business account and appear in the same LeadExploder integration settings after you authenticate. Select your Instagram Business profile, choose the Lead Ad forms you want to sync, and map the fields. From that point on, Instagram leads flow into LeadExploder alongside Facebook leads in the same unified pipeline view. The source tag on each contact record tells you whether it originated from Facebook or Instagram.
